David Fife Welch was born September 5, 1918, in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He received his commission as Ensign in the U.S. Naval Reserve in 1941, and advanced to the rank of rear admiral in 1968. He commanded Destroyer Squadron 10 in 1966 and 1967. Welch died on April 5, 2005, in Tucson, Arizona. From the description of Welch, David F.
